Fashion Robot HRP-4C-Based LINUX

Japan is a very rich country industries. Similarly we can see from the industrial or humanoid robots making robots that act like human doings in general.

This time Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) has just demonstrated his latest work with the type of humanoid robot HRP-4C, by using Linux-based operating system 2.6xx under the GPL.

HRP-4C prototype is designed like a young Japanese woman who is not less beautiful like a model. The robot has a height of 158 cm and weighing about 43 kilograms. For now, the robot is able to stand and walk like a model in fashion shows and give greetings like Japanese women. The plan fashion show by the robot itself is scheduled from 23-29 March 2009. Also HRP-4C is equipped with a motor component 30 to be able to express. From the information obtained, the robot is expected to be ready for sale at a price of about 2.4 billion rupiah.

At the heart of HRP-4C prototype is embedded the latest version of the Advanced Real Time (ART) Linux, specifically used to develop robotic applications. And the ART-alone version of its first Linux was already compatible with Linux 2.6.xx released yesterday by Sourceforge under the GPL license.
